Allow Me to Introduce MyselfMy name is Sarah Schmidt. I am excited to announce that I have been named Mrs. Benton County International 2016 and will represent our community at the Mrs. Minnesota International Pageant on Saturday, April 30, 2016 in St. Paul. I will compete for the title of Mrs. Minnesota International 2016, a grand prize package, and the opportunity to represent Minnesota at the Mrs. International Pageant. I am grateful to be sponsored by Foley Funeral Home, providing Service with Dignity to Central Minnesota.
Many people have asked me why I want to be in the Mrs. Minnesota International pageant. I'm glad to tell my story! After high school, I was crowned Miss Monticello (my hometown) and went on to compete at the Minneapolis Aquatennial. Throughout that experience, I gained self-confidence and life skills that have proven to be priceless as I completed college and entered the professional world. I am thankful that I stretched outside my comfort zone and gave it a try! I can remember meeting Mrs. Minnesota International during my reign as Miss Monticello and tucking away the idea that someday I would like to be like her. Fast-forward a *few* years and it brings me to today. There is a long list of reasons I could have talked myself out of entering the pageant; but I feel it's a wonderful opportunity to bring awareness of grief and finding Hope & Healing after loss. The International pageant system focuses on expressing something you are passionate about through a chosen platform. I will spend the next year promoting the awareness of grief and finding Hope & Healing after loss. You can join me on my journey by following my blog! |

Married to Joel, a Deputy for Stearns County Sheriff’s Department, we are proud and honored to be a part of the Blue Line Family. We reside in Central Minnesota and have two sons who entertain us daily! I have found my perfect career fit at Foley Funeral Home as a Funeral Director, Licensed Insurance Agent and Grief Support Coordinator. I enjoy giving back to the community through volunteering on the Board of Directors for the Sauk Rapids Community Ambassador Organization, serving as a Deaconess and assisting with Children’s Ministry at Bridge Community Church, Sauk Rapids, and facilitating a grief support group in the Foley community.
